Anxiety or panic attacks, stress, depression or bipolar illness, and chronic pain were among the health and medical conditions for which the dosage of delta-8 was used by 51% of respondents. Seventy-eight percent stated they hadn’t notified their primary care provider they use delta-8 because they don’t trust their doctor to incorporate medicinal marijuana into their treatment.

While consuming delta-8, participants’ perceptions of paranoia and anxiety ranged from “not at all” to “a bit”. Participants also had minimal understanding of effective delta-8 doses, claiming that most of their knowledge came from the internet or personal experience.

In the second half of 2020, the market for Delta-8 THC products exploded, with considerable consumer interest, new firms and innovations entering the area, and accompanying sales growth.
